In this role I was responsible for overseeing the recruitment process of new appointments. I liaised with managers and offered them guidance on the recruitment process, processed the applicants’ background checks, uploaded job roles to our career website, scheduled interviews, created and extended formal offers of employment, and performed a variety of other administrative tasks relating to the recruitment process. I also communicated with the public and answered any recruitment-related queries. Effective communication and teamwork were very important aspects of this role, as well as appearing professional, helpful, and personable to the public. This role demanded a high level of attention-to-detail, especially when creating job adverts to a specification. I also made valuable contributions to a social media project which aims to increase the Council’s social media presence.

My role mainly consisted of general administrative tasks, such as monitoring our generic inbox, filling out spreadsheets, dealing with post, and responding to phone queries. I was also responsible for quality checking and uploading job adverts from schools onto our careers website.
