Hi all I have been an employee of Irish rail for over 25 years I come from a long line of railway family from where my great grandfather was located in a achill and after the closure of the line relocated to ballinasloe Station his son Frank my grandfather worked there as a signalman witn his 2 brothers bill and Tommy my father Tony a loco driver in connolly and athlone my brother olly loco driver Galway athlone and now based in West Port my son Robert per way dep extra gang athlone and my 2 nephew s Dylan and Aaron crossing control athlone Irish rail has been apart of my life always from a young boy traveling the country side to be my grandparents on my mother side down in dingle many hours travelling and changing trains my job is ever changing different challenge s every day I currently preform picop and es duties in div 25 a great bunch of lads and enjoy being apart of the wider Irish rail family .I have recently took up a position as IM Training officer with a great team to bring a safer working environment to internal and external staff it's been a real privilege to be given the opportunity and I loving the challenge and hope too bring my years of service from past experience s working in the coal face of railway maintenance to enhance safety and to learn from our vastly experienced workforce my moto is every day s a learning day we are constantly evolving 👍
