As a Departmental Technician for the Mechanical Engineering department I am responsible for building, demolishing, cleaning, moving, modifying, improving, and maintaining rooms and labs within the Mechanical Engineering department. Departmental Technicians learn to use a large variety of tools, equipment and techniques to accomplish our jobs.

My main resposiblity as a recording engineer is to operate audio and video equipment to generate a physical and digital record of all musical performances performed in Music Hall at Iowa State University.

I assist in teaching ME 415 - Mechanical System DesignME 415 is a mechanical Engineering Capstone Design course.This course uses a team approach to solving design problems involving mechanical systems. Teams use current design practices they will encounter in industry. They document decisions concerning form and function, material specification, manufacturing methods, safety, cost, and conformance with codes and standards. Solution description includes oral and written reports. Projects often worked with industry sponsors.

At Nexteer Automotive I was assigned to the team responsible for creating the steering gear in the autonomous Chrysler Pacifica. My responsibilities were to:• Support engineering issue resolution for customer compliance • Support all required program documentation including: -DFMEA’s, Design Reviews, Customer issues/communications tracking, Customer Documentation• Coordinate process related documentation including 6 Step, Design Tracker, Customer PDT Minutes between customer and Saginaw engineering team• Coordinate and support design change activities such as: -Samples, vehicle testing, and validation for noise vibration and harshness of the steering system.• Interpret and analyze system and customer specifications• Support Customer Program Implementation activities as required• Support continuous improvement activities

My job was to support a current Manufacturing Engineering team with daily support tasks.Some of these tasks include: • Developing a physical inventory for spare parts used to service machines on the assembly line. • Loading software images to computers in order to create service laptops for diagnosing problems with machines on the assembly line.• Participating in a Problem Solving For Team Leaders class which combines concepts from Shainin Red X and 6 Sigma training into a one week course. • Using problem solving tools to reduce part reject rate on an assembly line.• Troubleshooted the design of a malfunctioning tool, offered design changes, machined components for better performance
