My name is Liam Lee Pow, I am an alumnus of Hampton University Class of 2011. I graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Psychology and a minor in Political Science. I received my MAT from Relay Graduate School Of Education 2017. Currently, I am working in the educational sector for Uncommon School Network as an 3rd Grade Teacher and Instructional Leader, I have been working in the educational sector for the past 10 years of my life. In my ten years of experience I have worked with a plethora of organizations, individuals, teams, families and students that have shaped my experience. I am very passionate person in educating the nascent youth of tomorrow through my own teaching and through professional development of young teachers not only in common core standard curriculum but in life lessons that will shape their mind and moral judgement. Through education each child has an opportunity to become prestigious leaders of tomorrow. I have been working with youth in low achievement urban areas since graduating from college because I personally feel that they are at the highest risk of cyclical poverty. The trend of cyclical poverty in urban areas has been detrimental to young students, I intend to eradicate this problem through teaching the youth about the importance of education. I believe that with the right guidance and an educational plan for success and execution of that plan the students will burgeon and develop into outstanding citizens. My future plans are to become a principal and continue to create avenues for the youth of tomorrow to find themselves and their passion through education.
