I am currently working as Corncrake Officer for West Connacht with the Corncrake LIFE Project. Prior to that I was working as project supervisor on the NPWS Corncrake Project as well as an ecology consultant. have also worked as a fieldworker for BirdWatch Ireland on the Curlew project and as a park ranger at Cape Scott Provincial Park where I was stationed on the North Coast Trail at the northern-most tip of Vancouver Island, BC. I have a degree in Heritage Studies and am qualified in Environmental Management, Geography and Archaeology. I have worked with the National Parks and Wildlife Service in Ireland, gaining experience working with Indigenous flora and fauna, such as Atlantic Salmon, Red Squirrel, Sea Eagles as well as Atlantic Blanket Bog and Forest habitats. In Canada I worked at the Quatse River hatchery, laying sets for pink, chum and coho Salmon. I was also a project manager with BC Marine Trails in the upgrade of a marine trail network for kayak users in Quatsino. I have had previous experience working as an Archaeologist and as a Curator in the National Museum of Ireland. I have a Masters degree in Philosophy and have good research and presentation skills. I am currently pursuing a career in Wildlife and Conservation with the aim of eventually finding work in that field back home in Mayo.
