My name is Liam Magee, and I am currently in my third year pursuing a degree in History and International Relations at Queen's University Belfast. This educational journey has provided me with a strong foundation in critical thinking, meticulous analysis, and profound research. I've developed a keen interest in understanding the complexities of the world, particularly when it comes to exploring the intricacies of different countries and their interactions with each other.Collaboration and teamwork have been pivotal throughout my academic pursuits. By listening to others' viewpoints and understanding how their unique life experiences shape their outlook, I've broadened my own understanding of the world.Additionally, I have gained valuable experience over the past 19 months as a member of the bar staff at Limelight Belfast. Delivering exceptional customer service and handling the demands of a fast-paced environment, I have honed my skills of multitasking under pressure, effortlessly serving over a thousand customers each night. Furthermore, conflict resolution has become one of my strong suits as I consistently approach confrontations with hostile and intoxicated patrons in a composed and respectful manner. This role, much like my academic endeavours, has reinforced the significance of working collaboratively towards a shared goal, namely providing a level of service that surpasses customer expectations.Moreover, I take pride in my proficiency in the Irish language, having achieved as at both GCSE and A level. Additionally, I've pursued further studies outside of school at Cumann Cultúrtha Mhic Reachtain, which furthered my love for the language.Combining my academic achievements, practical experience in the hospitality industry, and language skills, I aspire to contribute my diverse skill set to a progressive team that values excellence and embraces a global perspective.
