Within my current role as Project Manager at Optima Contracting I am involved in managing various projects within the fit out industry. I am involved in all aspects on each project and my responsibilities include all aspects of commercial management. As a successful Project Manager with over 15 years experience and have successfully managed a portfolio of construction projects ranging from £200,000 to £9.5 Million Pounds during my career. Within my role I take these projects from initial project handover to the successful completion.As a Project Manager, my main responsibilities involve the completion of a tender analysis upon the initial reward of the project, creating a project plan and sustaining cost, sustaining client & main contractor relationships throughout the project duration. I am the main point of contact for the client, main contractor and architect. I am responsible for creating, implementation and management of quality plans, method statements, risk assessments and environmental plans. On a weekly basis I have the responsibility to formulate weekly progress reports and monitoring progress onsite. I also attend design meetings between internal and external designers/architects. I am solely responsible for procurement of materials including procurement schedules, vetting and primary contact to the suppliers. My commercial duties include producing labour bills, payment applications/valuations to the client as well as management of sub-contractors payments. I am also responsible for material invoices, reconciliations, valuation of variations, internal profit projections and monthly progress reports (WIP).
