I am Liam May, a mechanical engineering student at UBC. I am interested in any work related to the field of engineering, specifically in the field of aerospace. Currently I am in the third year of my university program and am adding to this degree a minor in computer science and the aerospace option offered by UBC. I have a long history of involvement with Scouts Canada and the Royal Canadian Air Cadets where I have learned and demonstrated strong teamwork and leadership skills. Through my involvement with these programs as well as high school model united nations competitions I have demonstrated an ability to engage in public speaking and other forms of communication. I spent my two last summers working with TC Energy and Wood as a summer student. In these environments I became exposed to professional environments with engineering challenges and rigorous safety standards both on site and in the office. I have many awards that demonstrate my abilities much of which were earned at a national level. From technical skills to public speaking to leadership these awards show a track record of excellence throughout my youth.
