As an Associate Director within Jacobs, I thrive at the heart of the Systems Engineering team, leveraging my expertise as a System Safety Specialist. I lead the implementation of CSM and Interoperability in the rail industry and other high-risk sectors.Currently, I play a pivotal role in the £10bn Transpennine Route Upgrade, serving as the CSM and Interoperability Lead for the Rail Systems Integration team. My responsibilities include leading a System Safety team within a challenging engineering environment, with key duties such as:- Delivering System Safety Documentation for the Key Outputs- Interfacing with the Network Rail Assurance Panel to develop the overall strategy under CSM and RIR for the integrated programme- Leading interfaces with System Review Panels to gain endorsement for the Key Output stages- Collaborating with Programme Management to develop integrated schedules for the overall delivery of TRU- Overseeing the delivery of System Safety for the CheckPoint and ADHT Applications, technology-driven solutions for railway access and asset management- Chairing System Integration Triage and Hazard Identification Workshops My goal is to ensure the highest standards of safety and efficiency in every project I undertake, contributing to the advancement of sustainable and secure railway systems.

My role as a Technical Assurance Manager builds on that of an engineer, ensuring that I play a leading role in the delivery of Safety and Technical Assurance within Anturas. I have continued my work, delivering the Safety Verification Scheme as part of the SPT Glasgow Subway Rolling Stock and Control System Modernisation Project. In particular I have:- Audited both the client and the contractor to ensure that appropriate safety processes are in place and show demonstrable compliance with these processes.- Perform additional audits on the Independent Safety Assessors to ensure that they are delivering against their ISA Audit Plans - Chaired the System Review Panel, ensuring that appropriate safety assurance deliverables are in place and adequate prior to progression to the major changes in the operational intent of the systemIn addition to this, I have been working within the Technical Design Authority for the Transpennine Route Upgrade as a Programme System Safety Engineer. Within the role I have been responsible for the development and delivery of CSM documentation and requirements, namely:- Leading on the development and update of CSM and RIR Documentation required by both regulatory and Network Rail requirements- Baselining of the Programme Hazard Record, including: Chairing meetings with discipline experts to review hazards and refine the hazard record and Development of a Hazard Record Baseline report to be issued to the AsBo for confirmation that the process undertaken to review these hazards was thorough and accurate- Defining HAZID sessions to be undertaken in the context of Key Output 1, a major operational change in place to account for diversionary route introduction

My role as a Technical Assurance Engineer places me as a key part of the assurance delivery team within Anturas Consulting Ltd delivering high quality projects within challenging timescales and budgets set by clients. I am chiefly responsible for the management of the Safety Verification Scheme within the £288m SPT Subway Modernisation project ensuring that the scheme is delivered in the context of the ROGS 2006 Regulations and that the overall evidence pack satisfies the individual requirements within. Within this role I have:- Undertaken various process audits including Design, EN50126, Change Management and ISA audits- Produced a system wide Fire and Life Strategy- Ensured that the Cross acceptance against CSM satisfies the necessary requirements- Managed and led internal and external assurance meetings - Produced a HAZID / HAZOP strategy for SPT to take internally- Reviewed and approved project safety documentationIn addition to this, I have had significant responsibility in the delivery of numerous pieces of CSM documentation to support various projects under the Network Rail CP6 framework.I have also collaborated with a leading Behavioural Science specialist, producing a delivering a novel and successful training course on the significant benefit that Behavioural Science can have on the engineering industry with respect to Technical and Safety Assurance and Verification.

As a Project Engineer, I was chiefly responsible for the timely delivery of high quality projects within the cost frame agreed upon with the client. I wrote and developed Safety Case justifications for a varied range of projects throughout the Nuclear Industry. In addition to project engineering, I am responsible for the project management of numerous projects which includes cost estimation, reporting, invoicing etc. As part of this, I was involved in the development of project requirements, scope and ultimate plan for accomplishment as per client expectations.I have had significant experience in the application of a number of Risk Management and Hazard Identification methods including:- Development of Critical Path monitoring system at numerous EDF Energy stations for determination of outage delays and setbacks;- Production of feasibility studies and safety justification to support use of equipment in new capacities;- Development of Reliability Centred Maintenance schemes for various equipment sets;- Continuation of support for Modifications Process for EDF Energy's Graphite Core Inspection Equipment- HAZID and HAZOP Studies;- HSE Case support and technical authorship of COMAH safety reports;- Modification control and justification;- Bowtie Analysis using Bowtie XP Software;- Application of the CSM process in Rail Applications

In this capacity, I conducted modification feasibility and safety case justification through Design Change Process for EDF Energy’s Graphite Core Inspection Equipment. It was also my responsibility to prepare subsequent reports regarding HAZOP, HAZID, RCM and BowTie’s, as well as scribing various workshops.Most significant achievements in this position include:- Successfully and effectively managing a long-term project in EDF Energy’s Design Change Process for the Graphite Core Inspection Equipment- Successfully completing a PG Cert in Risk and Safety Management
