Advanced Practitioner Sonographer
CurrentRoles and responsibilities • To produce high quality diagnostic ultrasound scans, interpret the images, and formulate a clear, concise written report detailing the findings and answering the referrers clinical question. • Mentor and facilitate the practical teaching of trainee sonographers and junior Dr’s, ensuring they demonstrate the required level of competence to scan and report independently. • Complete formative and summative clinical assessments for trainee sonographers. • Support newly qualified sonographers through their preceptorship • Conduct interviews to recruit qualified sonographers, trainee sonographers and radiology assistants.• Step in to the role of the ultrasound service lead in their absence, liaising with senior management, dealing with a variety of queries/concerns and ensuring the smooth running of the department • Vet IP/OP ultrasound requests• Assist with monthly sonographer peer auditing
