Research Intern
CurrentI worked at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory as part of their Science Undergraduate Laboratory Internship (SULI) program. I primarily worked on a research project which focused on finding equitable deployment locations for electric medium- and heavy-duty vehicle charging stations. I programmed a tool which creates an interactive map of the United States which shows all proposed charging station locations. It also displays the relative level of disadvantage experienced by the desired number of communities surrounding each charging station using a color scale which corresponds to a disadvantage community index score based on 20 US Census Bureau Equity Metrics. Disadvantaged communities identified by the Department of Transportation and the Department of Energy is also displayed as well as various other outputs. I also did other research related to Electric Vehicles and am currently working on writing a paper for conference publication.
