I graduated as an archaeologist from the University of Glasgow in 1997 and have worked extensively as a field archaeologist in both Scotland and Ireland since then. I sat and passed the DOEHLG archaeological excavation licence interview in 2003 and I have been an associate of the Chartered Institute for Archaeologists since 2015. I have worked on a wide range of archaeological projects from small scale evaluations through to running large excavations as part of large infrastructure projects. Specialties: I have particular experience in the excavation of early medieval sites in Ireland, particularly the ringfort site type. I have also excavated a number of Neolithic and Bronze Age sites some of which i am hoping to publish in the near future. My current interest is in post medieval/early modern and industrial archaeology of Scotland (in particular within the greater Glasgow area). As well as this I'm also keen to bring in new technologies such as photogrammetry into the recording of archaeological sites. The resultant 3D models of excavations, structures and artefacts allows us to disseminate the findings from sites to a much greater audience which is especially important as safety considerations on larger sites often means the general public is seldom allowed access.
