I led the adoption of advanced data science techniques, enhancing data quality and promoting the integration of Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence.Additionally, I collaborated with Energy Systems Catapult on data science challenges, leveraging open data sets to drive innovation through competitive projects. Throughout my tenure, I maintained strong communication, coding proficiency, and expertise in database technologies. As a Data and Digitalisation Engineer, I specialised in preparing and analysing data for analytical and operational purposes. My responsibilities encompassed building data pipelines, integrating and cleansing data, and structuring it for analytics applications. I also conducted data science activities, such as querying and running algorithms for data mining.I collaborated across business units to deliver data insights, handling both structured and unstructured data sets. I utilised various big data technologies and open-source frameworks. In my role, I tackled technically demanding tasks, including:- Developing and maintaining Python programs for efficient data access and upload in CKAN repositories.- Translating power grid models and addressing CIM archive limitations.- Validating data and addressing compliance issues with CGMES standards.- Participating in working groups to enhance data exchange and planning.My role allowed me to contribute to diverse projects and initiatives in the realm of data and digitalisation.

During my tenure in the Network Strategy team, I honed my expertise in areas of the role that demanded a strong technical focus. My responsibilities extended to Sow/Modification Application, where my role ensured WPD promptly informed National Grid of load flow and fault level changes, particularly when accepted generation connections surpassed predefined thresholds. This involved the adept use of PSSE to craft equivalent network models, report on fault level infeed magnitudes, and audit National Grid's submissions.One of my notable achievements revolved around resolving challenges related to Newton Raphson calculations during National Grid network outage assessments. My role encompassed comprehensive assessments of network voltage and system mismatch, the execution of load flows, and pinpointing issues linked to the control of National Grid's reactive compensation. Employing a range of data sources, including National Grid's operational model, Week 42 data, and ETYS data, I successfully revamped the PSSE database to reflect National Grid's reactive compensation plant.Furthermore, my role entailed leveraging Python programming to enhance our technical capabilities, contributing to our team's overall effectiveness.

I specialised in the technical aspects within the Primary System Design team, with a focus on Power Quality, Network Data, System Analysis, and Software Development. My role involved reviewing G5/4, P28, and P29 reports for compliance in DER connections, conducting PQ monitoring installations, and performing harmonics studies. I also served as secretary for a harmonics subgroup and provided training and mentoring. Additionally, I contributed to Grid Code Compliance, reactive power studies, directional overcurrent settings, NOP switching studies, and power-on and RTU projects. My software development skills included Access DB management and custom Python scripting. As a STEM Ambassador, I engaged in educational outreach activities.
