I was previously a general committee member on the voluntary management board of Slipper Bridge pond. My tasks include attending meetings concerning the management of the pond, bringing forward suggestions, taking action on assigned tasks, voting on decisions regarding future actions like stocking, regulation changes and many other important tasks. Recent projects under my tenure include the introduction of a bore hole to regulate water levels, installation of a permanent accessible toilet at the premises and also the addition of new shared pegs and renovation of existing pegs. The implementation of these projects resulted in over £30,000 pounds of funds being reinvested back into the fishing club.I am also a qualified level one angling coach and alongside a team of coaches provide coaching sessions for members of the fishing club. Tasks include looking after the well being of members being coached, conducting risk assessments, coaching and ensuring safeguarding standards are met and all coaching sessions are conducted in a professional manner. My position as a general committee member and coach has given me a fundamental understanding of the importance of working as team to raise investment for future projects. In addition it has shown me the importance of others skills, which without, we as a committee would have been unable to successfully implement some of our previous projects. Further to this, I have learnt how to communicate with key legislators and stakeholders to ensure that any future proposed projects are successfully backed, and are compliant with legislation regulating the proposed areas the projects concern.
