Meat Processing Center Employee
CurrentWorking at the University of Florida Meat Processing Center, or as the locals like to call it, the Meat Lab, has unequivocally proven to be a crucial stepping stone towards veterinary school. While on the job, I practice skills relevant to veterinary medicine, including: processing cows and pigs from slaughter to retail, determining health and vital signs of an animal based on learned recognized signs and memorizing anatomy based on essential muscular and skeletal groups. I am also thankful for the social and instructional experience I have gained while on the job, in conjunction with my role as an educator to kids and their parents while participating in the Hog and Ham event of summer 2021 and 2022.
