RNCM Young Artists is an award-winning programme of training and support for pop musicians aged 11-18 from across the North West. Launched in September 2022, the initiative provides young people with life-changing opportunities to explore their talent and achieve their potential, while making music training from the very best artists accessible to all.As a freelance undergraduate Composition Tutor at RNCM, I specialize in lyric writing, drawing on 18 years of professional experience across genres like pop, rock, and cinematic music. I developed an innovative lyric writing curriculum, blending creative expression with industry-focused techniques, providing students with a strong foundation for professional careers in songwriting. My role involves leading undergraduate classes, offering one-to-one mentorship, and organizing workshops. I also bridge academia and the music industry by inviting guest speakers and record label professionals to share real-world insights. Through my extensive network, I connect students with key industry figures, enhancing their educational experience and career prospects. Additionally, I continue to compose and produce music for clients such as Universal, Warner Chappell, and Sony Music, further enriching my teaching with practical industry knowledge.
