During my undergraduate research, I engaged in a dual approach studying the molecule inosine within both a physical analytical lab and a computational lab setting in the Rodgers group. I focused on probing the stability of inosine's glycosidic bond using tandem mass spectrometry experiments. These experiments provided crucial insights into the molecule's structural dynamics and fragmentation patterns under varying conditions. Simultaneously, in the computational lab, I employed electronic structure calculations to complement and extend my findings from the experimental work. This interdisciplinary approach allowed me to gain a comprehensive understanding of inosine's behavior at a molecular level, bridging experimental observations with theoretical predictions to advance our knowledge in bioanalytical chemistry. I am currently in the process of writing a publication.
