Inquiry Review Support Command

Selected to join this highly sensitive and confidential team, I held responsibility for supporting evidence presentation to the largest public inquiry in British legal history; considering evidence delivered by former and serving police officers who had been deployed in long term undercover roles. Managing the need for anonymity in giving evidence, I developed and implemented a strategy that maintained their safety and met exacting legal requirements.

Frontline Policing

Leading a large team, I oversaw the immediate response to critical incidents and the management of a wide range of operational activities across a busy London borough. I managed varied, often high priority, issues simultaneously, delivering clear and calm supervision under the most challenging circumstances. Leading response to serious events and activating accident and emergency plans, I conducted critical risk assessments, ensuring the appropriate prioritisation, response and resourcing.

Frontline Policing

I held various roles during this time including:Response - I led a team of 24/7 officers, ensuring calls for police attention were responded to promptly and that the appropriate staff were available in areas, and at times, of greatest demand. Responding to major incidents, I ensured evidence was secured and witnesses, suspects and forensic opportunities were identified. I managed operational obligations alongside the professional development, discipline and welfare needs of my team. Safer Neighbourhood - I led the implementation of solutions to neighbourhood issues, addressing areas of greatest local concern. I chaired meetings across the community and drove operations to combat offending delivering strong results and well managed resources and financial budgets. Custody - I was responsible for the reception, detention, release and overall care of individuals brought into a large custody suite. I demonstrated the ability to respond calmly and prioritise correctly in high tension environments, remaining cognisant of the requirements of exacting legal and moral demands. Working effectively with lay visitors, I promoted understanding of police actions and resolved concerns at the earliest opportunity.

Robbery Team

Leading a team, I drove the reduction of robberies through intelligence led detection and investigation. I directed strategies and developed case files for presentation to the Crown Prosecution Service, going on to offer evidence at court. I demonstrated a tenacious approach, employing innovative approaches to trace and arrest suspects seeking to evade arrest.

Government Office For London

Seconded to this role, I was tasked to advise local authority partners on the development of their crime and disorder reduction plans. I led on sharing best practice with local authorities and conducted continual performance assessments to ensure compliance with the Crime and Disorder Reduction Plans and ensured they met legal requirements to secure community safety funding.

Response Policing

Beginning my service as a constable, I worked in a range of roles affording me a strong foundation of enquiry, observation and personal interaction. I delivered 24/7 policing response across the London rail network, managing high risk situations and sensitive safeguarding issues around vulnerable individuals. I demonstrated exceptional conflict management skills and consistently processed information quickly and accurately. I exercised a personable and diplomatic approach with a real interest in local issues was essential along with the ability to connect meaningfully with people even in the most challenging of circumstances. Undertaking detective duties, I demonstrated an intelligent and competent eye for detail, enquiry and observation. Serving in London, I worked within various units, including plainclothes squads, challenging crime across London Underground and mainline stations.
