My projects focus is on antibiotic resistance and antimicrobial drug discovery.

Responsibilities included: - Demonstration of protocols and teaching of theory to undergraduate students to facilitate their learning- Supervision of undergraduate practical laboratory modules- Marking undergraduate students work.

Smart Coasts = Sustainable Communities is a joint venture between Ireland and Wales, the main aim of which is to maintain the economic value of coastal waters in terms of industry and leisure. Responsibilities involved:- Performing duties both in a field and laboratory setting. - Collecting river and marine water samples to test- Determining E. coli and intestinal Enterococci contamination in the water system, as a means to determine faecal matter pollution. - Microbial source tracking using 16S PCR

The focus of my project during my time at the VA medical center was the study of two Streptococcus agalactiae proteins, Srr-1 and Srr-2, particularly their interactions with fibrinogen. This required: - Synthesis of histidine tagged fibrinogen protein - Cloning using E.coli - Protein purification using chromatography - Western blotting

As a customer service agent my responsibilities included:- Receiving and transmitting bets- Building and maintaining a good rapport with the customers- Calculating payouts and handle large amounts of cash- Lodging cash in the bank.
