Following on from his time at RAF Brize Norton, Liam continued to progress quickly and soon become an established network engineer. He completed another two tours of Afghanistan this time as an acting supervisor. He covered a wide range of communications roles from a network and server administrator to a shift network engineer. A number of extra courses were completed and included a leadership management course.

Liam was an enthusiastic and committed junior telecommunications engineer at his time here. Having arrived after completed his trade training he was soon keen to increase his trade knowledge by attending various courses. These courses not only aided his knowledge but prepared him for his first deployment to Afghanistan as a shift technician.His main role was the set-up, operation and maintenance of deployable communications equipment.
