• Main Duties: Forecasting levels of demand for services and products to meet business needs, managing stock replenishment levels, conducting research to ascertain the best products and suppliers to deliver best value and quality, identifying potential suppliers, creating and maintaining supplier relationships, negotiating, agreeing and monitoring contracts, developing purchasing strategy e.g. centralising purchasing, using data analysis to determine KPIs, producing reports and statistics using computer software, evaluating and investigating shrinkage, creating internal controls and procedures to affect effectiveness and efficiency, evaluating bids and making recommendations based on commercial and technical factors, ensuring suppliers are aware of business objectives, attending meetings, training and supervising the work of other members of staff.
