Embedded in a project team and responsible for product layout integration of a novel new format air purifier at concept level. This was achieved as follows: • Collaborated with Aerodynamic Research Engineers to develop new to Dyson airflow technologies and product layouts.• Analysed the product requirements document set to produce a suite of tests to verify and validate aeroacoustics performance from component level through to integration.• Designed and built appropriate mechanical test rigs, then carried out concept testing and user trials to determine product technical requirements.• Designed component and product models using Siemens NX 3D CAD, then utilised these designs to 3D print and build representative functional prototypes. • Researched then procured suitable materials or components to be integrated within designs to enable desired function and performance.• Carried out performance testing on the individual and integrated components to align the 1D system model, then analysed the results using various tools such as MATLAB to produce technical reports.

Carried out a support role on three concurrent projects in NPI, responsible for all component and system level verification and validation.• At the concept phase of each project, carried out test method evaluation to ensure that current company methods were aligned to the most recent industry standards. • Designed and built test rigs, then used these to characterize the fundamental technologies. • Iteratively executed performance test activities to gather metrics at each phase of the projects.• Employed statistical analysis techniques to evaluate large complex data sets that were gathered during performance testing to Inform design direction of the products.

This was achieved as follows:• Provide test expertise and support to the project team, advising on test methodologies so that test rigs could be built.• Progressed to producing 3D models through CAD, building components for the test environment.• Configured all the test equipment in the labs in a manner that satisfied the required outcomes, then carried out the testing.• Learnt then applied statistical analysis techniques to the test results so that the data could be interpretated.

Supported numerous projects from concept through to production, managing and running a multitude of test labs and their associated equipment.• Instrumental in the build of a new Airflow Test Facility. As Facility Lead, authored the Statement of Work document then oversaw the build through to commissioning and subsequent daily use.• Owner of 7 Test labs, responsible for their day-to-day management and maintenance, ensuring their availability and serviceability for the various project teams. • As a technical advisor provided project support to a team of 40 Engineers working across many different projects.• Ran iterative tests on behalf of Engineers, reporting observations then carrying out re-runs as necessary within the product cycle.• Responsible for the development of a new to industry test method for the evaluation of room cleaning and sensing capability of air purifying products. Enabling new commercial claims to Dyson and adoption by external Research Institutes.

Test Technician in the NPI Environmental Care team supporting a variety of projects, but predominately embedded in the air purification team. In this period, honed technical skills in line with Dyson methodology.• As the owner of 3 test labs, set up the environments and associated test equipment to support the product development.• Ran tests in line with Dyson test methods (DTM), reporting post analysis results and observations as necessary. Including airflow, filter performance, power consumption and product performance.• Authored DTM based on industry standard for a new product. This DTM was later approved and published for internal use. • Carried out remediation work when requested.• Supported Engineers from various project teams in the capacity of a test Subject Matter Expert (SME).
