The Standards unit sets the Standards for general practice accreditation in Australia, which aims to protect patients from harm and support quality improvement efforts.• Developing and maintaining quality and safety standards, guidelines and resources for Australian general practice and other primary healthcare settings.• Managing projects across the long- and short-term.• Researching and preparing briefings, including background papers and literature reviews.• Coordinating consultation and communication strategies and reporting on results, feedback and recommendations.• Secretariat for the RACGP Expert Committee – Standards for General Practices and associated working groups.Achievements• Acting Program Manager, Standards team (August – September 2023)• Developed the Standards for health services in Australian immigration detention facilities.• Developed the Infection prevention and control guidelines for general practices and other office-based and community-based practices.• Developed sex and gender content in the Standards for general practices.• Developed new definition of a general practice for the purpose of accreditation.• Implemented reporting strategies for general practice accreditation compliance data.• Implemented Standards communication strategies and process.

The Advocacy & Funding unit produces RACGP policy and provides advocacy efforts and resources for general practitioners and general practice. • Developing and reviewing resources, policies and position statements regarding primary care.• Researching and preparing briefing papers and submissions.• Coordinating the implementation of marketing and communication strategies.• Coordinating GP networking events across states.• Conducting consultations, analysing feedback and reporting results and recommendations.Achievements• Developed various position statements related to Australian general practice, including Billing for general practice services and On demand telehealth services.• Developed submissions to federal inquiries and reviews, including topics such as: Medicare Benefits Schedule Review, urgent after-hours services, and transitional arrangements for the National Disability Insurance Scheme.• Piloted the RACGP’s Local GP Advocacy Network – a series of interstate GP networking and education events.• Developed of several popular GP member resources, including the MBS fee summary.

• Providing administrative support to the Manager, Advocacy & Policy, Program Managers, United General Practice Australia (UGPA), and RACGP Policy Officer Network.• Coordinating responses to members regarding RACGP advocacy, guidelines and standards.• Scheduling and organising meetings for the division, committees and working groups.• Preparing reports, data analysis, correspondence, marketing copy, and graphics. • Proofreading, editing and designing documentation.Achievements• Managed enquiries across two teams within two days of receipt.• Developed excellent rapport with internal and external stakeholders, including senior leadership, committee members, GP members, and practice managers.• Developed RACGP Advocacy Topics and Consultations webpages.• Executed communication strategies, including management of extensive stakeholder lists.
