Project Manager
CurrentThe Jacinta Charitable Trust is a charity which owns and runs the 1972 Jacinta Heritage Trawler, a 615-ton deep sea fishing trawler which is now preserved as a floating maritime museum in the old fishing port of Fleetwood. We are now in the process of completing a major renovation and refit project to secure the integrity of the ship as an asset for the future.I joined the project in 2015 to support the project management team and have since worked to complete both small and large scale maintenance and engineering projects. The Trust has been an excellent source of project management experience and provided me with the opportunity to work within a new industry sector and with colleagues from many differing backgrounds. I have also been provided the opportunity to work ‘hands on’ with the engineers to maintain the ships engine and mechanical equipment. Responsibilities:- Plan, manage and control renovation and restoration projects within the ship - Coordinate with engineering contractors, the Maritime Coastguard Agency and marine architects to discuss present and future project plans, commercial contracts and project risks - Assist in the creation and analysis of feasibility studies for both future projects and future business opportunities- Organise public relations events, community festivals, public and commercial visits- Assist in the general maintenance of the ship and its essential equipment
