I have recently relocated to the UK from New Zealand with great enthusiasm for embarking on this new chapter in my life. Before I moved overseas, I worked in a Sustainability Graduate role at the Auckland University of Technology (AUT) where I gained a diverse range of experience as well as the opportunity to upskill.From 2017-2020 I completed my Bachelor of Business degree, majoring in Sustainable Enterprise and minoring in Entrepreneurship and Innovation. During this time, I worked in a casual role at Spark Arena as a Hospitality Supervisor, as well as in different industries which included Banking and Retail. Before and after graduating, New Zealand went into a COVID lockdown period, which is when I found work in private healthcare at Healthcare NZ as an Administrator before moving into the Referrals Team. In early 2022 I then applied and was accepted for the Sustainability Graduate role at AUT which aligned with the work I wanted to do. During my time in this role, I took every chance I had to learn and upskill, whilst contributing to different projects, tasks, research and more. I thoroughly enjoyed the chance to lead my own projects and programs, which included AUT's Green Impact program, as well as our Dairy Transition project. I also found a passion for the energy sector as I am strongly supportive and enthusiastic about renewable and sustainable energy. I had the opportunity of delving into this sector during this role on multiple circumstances and I would enjoy pursuing a career in energy. This included working with our various emissions and energy sources for the purposes of reporting for the university's annual emissions audit. Another opportunity was representing the University's Sustainability Team along with my manager in AUT's Energy Reduction Plan where we worked with our stakeholders and other organisations to reduce our energy usage.I enjoyed my time at AUT, both during my studies and my previous role, and I'm eager to continue similar work in order to commit to a better and brighter future.
