The Team Leader role introduced new tasks and responsibilities detailed below, as well as relying heavily on my background as a 1st line agent in the team.I have performed this role through a period of intense change, with the GoDaddy integration starting from the acquisition in early 2017.We also had the recent GDPR changes to account for, which caused additional changes in the way calls are handled by the teams, as well as how certain features of our website and products function.Communicating these changes with the team has been a valuable learning experience, and has forced some valuable development of myself.The tasks within this role include:- Equipping and guiding my team in their work, to ensure that the department hits the necessary SLA, upsell requirements.- Supervising a team, of half a department, in order to ensure all tasks and responsibilities were covered as required by the team.- Escalating newly identified issues to an incident management team and working with them to resolve the issue, as well as implementing a long-term solution for the issue.- Assisting agents with tasks where there have been skill-gaps preventing them from resolving the issues of customers.- Setting objectives with agents from my team to develop new and existing skills and qualities.- Creating resources for learning, as well as giving more direct tutoring, to team members; ensuring that the agent is equipped to achieve their objectives.- Motivating team members and fostering a positive attitude around hitting targets on an individual and departmental level.- Dealing with priority tasks from upper management.

The role consisted of handling inbound calls from customers and assist them with both technical and billing queries.Technical queries would include, but were not limited to:- Domain Maintenance, acquisition and recovery.- Webhosting management for our shared hosting platforms via command line and API command building UI.- SSL certificate ordering, diagnostic and in-house installs, frequently requiring correspondence with the CA.- Usage and technical-fault detection for SaaS products such as Website Builders.- Diagnostics on OX mail server mailboxes via mailcore/dovecot logs.- Additional responsibility, on an ad-hoc basis, for specific issues and clients to be addressed on a specialised basis.- Maintaining contact with other departments, separate organisations and aforementioned specialised clients.- Advising newer members of the team, as well as 1-to-1 call listening with new starters taking their own calls.I have taken well to some of the newer challenges which we have had to adapt to as a company. For example Nominet (Governing Body) validation and the manual validation this has involved as an accredited registrar.
