As part of the Financial Planning Team, I provided independent financial planning and wealth management advice to a portfolio of corporate clients, private clients, charities and trusts. This included advice on wealth management, IHT planning and retirement planning/pensions.I was also very active in the corporate pensions and auto enrolment market, having successfully advised and managed large and small businesses through their auto enrolment projects.

Through time as a tied, then multi-tied and then eventually independent financial adviser, I was responsible for providing advice to customers of HSBC on their financial planning requirements. This included advice on savings, mortgages, investments, pensions and tax planning.

Having started off as a temporary cashier and customer services adviser, I soon discovered that I wanted to learn more about financial services. I found that I really cared about and understood the power of delivering a great service in developing customer relationships and sales. I decided to accept a permanent position after 6 months, "skill up" by studying for my professional mortgage advice qualifications. Through this process, more on the job training and additional responsibility as a branch mortgage consultant, I then progressed to running a small team of staff at 2 branches.
