Its an exciting time to be a developer here in Electroroute Japan, as we have a brand new business in need of a lot of data, and we're using a whole host of new tools to do it!Python bots to scrape the data, Glue jobs to transform it. Leveraging Dagster Cloud for orchestration, and Terraform to spin up any AWS resources we need for the job. Once we have the data, we develop dashboard views using Power BI and trading tools using Power Apps. I do all of that, and more!The most rewarding part of my day is seeing the team using a new tool I've made, whether it's a full dashboard, or just a small timesaver.From my time in college studying applied mathematics, I have learned a great deal about mathematical modelling, along with more specific interests such as meteorology, high performance computing and machine learning.I'm also an avid cave explorer. Mostly around Ireland, but I've gone on expeditions abroad, too. Whether it's a new coding project, or a dark cavern, there's nothing I wouldn't jump head first into!
