Member of the Strategic Highways Europe team based in Chesterfield.I Developed my drive and passion for Engineering as part of a large, multi-disciplinary team on projects such as High Speed 2 (HS2) Phase 2b (Trowell to Tibshelf) Hybrid Bill Development, Mersey Gateway, A5025 Anglesey, A38 Derby Grade Separated Junctions, A52 Nottingham Junctions. Carried out Civil Engineering designs and solutions during various stages of design in major infrastructure projects across the U.K. Acquired a detailed knowledge of the technical aspects of several different highways disciplines including, Geometry, Road Restraint systems, Kerbs, Footways & Paved Areas, Fencing, Traffic Signs, Road Markings and Integrated Layouts.Through this work I gained a clear understanding and experience of relevant design standards including Design Manual for Roads and Bridges, the Manual of Contract Documents for Highway Works. As a Trainee Civil Engineer, I worked under-pressure and consequently learnt how to produce design packages using industry leading methods throughout the schemes.My devotion to gaining new skills and building on my existing experience when learning new software and BIM workflows such as Civil3D and InRoads since joining AECOM in September 2014 and i am now able to apply these skills to everyday work.
