A client of mine recently referred to me as their financial cartographer. And you know that’s not a bad description of what I actually do.You see when defining financial goals and mapping out a strategy to achieve them, people find tremendous value and peace of mind, having guidance from a professional with 25 years’ experience in the financial services industry, who has been down that road many times. And that is what I do, I work closely with people to help them identify, but most of all help them make their financial goals become a reality. If you want to become mortgage free in less than 10 years or retire at 55, then great, let’s get started and see if we can make that happen. My approach to financial advice is actually very simple – I believe people need help making smart financial decisions…no sales pitches, no gimmicks, no conflicts of interest and most of all no BS.And I know from giving advice to the most senior of executives to those just starting out, that there may be areas in their lives that create barriers to achieving financial independence, such as too little or too much insurance coverage, too much “month at the end of the money” or people’s investments are just not winning the battle with changing economic times. They key is identifying these problem areas before solutions can be found.I come across so many people each and every week who all have different starting points and different financial goals and aspirations and these real life experiences are what keep me motivated, engaged and keep me thinking, reading, writing, speaking and advising people on all matters relating to their finances.Money isn’t just a numbers game, it’s about people and their lives, and that is why 25 years later I am even more passionate about empowering, inspiring and supporting people in an effort to make them better prepared for their financial future.
