I worked with Professor Jens Neu in the University of North Texas Ultrafast Terahertz Laboratory. The group's focus is using Terahertz-Time Domain Spectroscopy (THz-TDS) to characterize emerging materials for applications ranging from quantum technology to renewable energy generation. In my senior thesis work, I used THz-TDS to characterize a family of topological quantum materials known as ZrXY (X=Si/Ge, Y = S, Se. Te) nodal-line semimetals. Additionally, I have enjoyed assisting with the development of our group's Optical Pump Terahertz Probe system (OPTP).

I worked with the Goldman research group to simulate the confined state energy and recombination energy of InAs sub-monolayer quantum dots using atom probe tomography data. Additionally, I worked with the group's scanning tunneling microscopy team on scanning tunneling spectroscopy experiments. The REU program provided various workshops and trainings such as machine shop training, graduate school workshops, and various opportunities to practice scientific writing and presentations.
