Successfully defended manufacturers in fire and explosion, agricultural equipment, personal injury, and warranty cases.I am a trial lawyer with experience at all stages of litigation in both state and federal court, including pre-suit dispute resolution, arbitration, pretrial discovery, trial, and appeal. I was recognized every year from 2018 through 2023 as a “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers.I focus my practice on a variety of complex negligence and product liability matters including product liability defense; fire and explosion litigation; auto and motorhome warranty (including Song-Beverly Act and lemon law); transportation and trucking collision/personal injury; insurance defense (including bad faith, first-party claims, UM/UIM, and coverage litigation); premises liability (including amusement parks, gas stations, restaurants, and other premises), and business litigation (including breach of contract, commercial landlord/tenant, construction, and franchisor/franchisee disputes).I graduated magna cum laude from the University of Louisville, Brandeis School of Law. Before attending law school, I was a tenured Associate Professor of Medieval English Literature at Indiana University Southeast. I have earned a Ph.D. in Medieval Studies and English Literature from the University of Oregon; a Master’s degree in English from San Francisco State University; and two Bachelor’s degrees—in English and Linguistics—from San Diego State University. I am an active member of Defense Research Institute (DRI, the national defense bar), in particular the Commercial Litigation Committee, having served as Young Lawyer Liaison, Marketing Chair, Program Chair, and Membership Chair. I am also very active in the community and have served for many years on boards for non-profit arts organizations such as Fund for the Arts, Kentucky Shakespeare, and Adath Jeshurun Synagogue.
