  • Stencil
    Graphic Illustrator
    Stencil Aug 2014 - Sep 2015

Responsibilities Key responsibilities of this role involved creating Illustrations and character designs for merchandise sold in the store - Mainly T-shirts. Skills I gained included creating design ideas from initial consultation with the company owner, creating mock-ups in Photoshop to show the look and feel of the design, then developing a finished project in illustrator to add vectors and smooth line work. Accomplishments During my time at stencil I got to produce some really cool designs and illustrations for stencils own brand. Primarily in T-shirt design. I also got to create my own brand of clothing 'Verdis Quo' which I sold in store as well. Skills Used I got to be as creative and wacky as I wanted at this position and throughly enjoyed every minute of my time here. Having a background in character art and design, and creating exaggerated non fictional stories, It was really fun and rewarding to put that energy into creating graphics and illustrations for t-shirts in a small humble store, with quite a cult following.
  • Evado E-Clinical Software
    Freelance Illustrator
    Evado E-Clinical Software Sep 2013 - Oct 2013
    Melbourne, Australia
Responsibilities With this job being a temporary one month contract, I made sure I had all of the equipment necessary to meet the deadline for my work. I was hired to produce a series of 8 character based Illustrations for a new multi platform application called 'UNIform'. I sketched out my rough designs by hand, mostly with a 4B pencil. Then I would scan the sketches into Adobe Photoshop where I would add further form and detail using different opacities and layers with my pen tablet. Finally, I would convert the drawings to Illustrator where I would add colour and smooth edges to complete each image. Accomplishments I got to work along side some very intelligent, kind people who were more than happy to answer any questions I had about the company, or their thoughts on the project. I was given the brief of what to do, but I had free reign on the character design and scenes which I really appreciated as an Illustrator. Skills Used I got to experiment without concentrating to much on line work. I wanted this project in specific to be more of a colourful simple design with bright shapes and warm characters.
  • Mabuzi
    Design / Production
    Mabuzi Mar 2013 - Aug 2013
    Sydney, Australia
Responsibilities Key responsibilities included aligning logos and typography in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, and pre treating the garments before operating the direct to garment printer. Meeting deadlines and dealing with stock deliveries on a daily basis. Accomplishments This job allowed me to explore a different side of design. I designed images and created typography for many different clients in and around Australia. Not only was I handling the design side of things, but production also. This was hard but rewarding work, as I could push myself to meet deadlines, organise the stock numbers, retain constant communication with clients and make sure the finished product was of the highest standard. Skills Used I focused more on Adobe Illustrator for this particular job, with it being more of a graphic design role. I learnt more about Adobe Indesign as we used it on a day to day basis for layout purposes.

I really excelled in my pen tablet drawing here to, and have been using it for daily illustrations ever since.
