I pride myself on my dedication and hard work in all pursuits in my life. As an undergraduate student majoring in Aerospace Engineering, with a minor in Global Engineering Leadership, my academics are naturally a very high priority. However, I am also extremely proud to be the Team Lead of a 4 year Gemstone Honors college research project team: Team Oceanic Autonomous Rescue Systems (OARS). We are researching autonomous lifeboats to maximize the efficiency of marine search and rescue operations. My work on this project has earned me the 2023-2024 Gingrich Firebaugh Memorial Scholarship Award, first place in the Gemstone Library Award competition and raised over $6,000 while securing lab space and partnerships with outside organizations. I am grateful for the opportunities I have been given and give back by serving as a Gemstone Camp Leader and fundraising chair for the University of Maryland Ultimate Frisbee team. In terms of work experience, I have excelled in two summer internships to date - one as an Engineering Intern at InterTest, Inc., a small company focusing on cameras and technology used for non-destructive testing and the other, as a Manufacturing Engineering Intern in Technology Development & Innovation at Mack Trucks. Between these two internship experiences, I have gained invaluable skills working with sensors, spectrometer systems, cameras, prototyping and CAD Design as well as a Kaizen project projected to save over $2 million for Mack Trucks. My long-term goals are to further develop my engineering and leadership skills as I prepare to graduate and enter the workforce full-time.
