I regularly utilise my NPLQ to perform with vigilance and safety during lifeguarding shifts. I have the ability to perform CPR, first aid and to use a defibrillator competently.

• Main responsibilities include the provision of high-quality swimming lessons for children with varying abilities, control and management of the syllabus based on the ability of students, the objective assessments of students’ progress at regular intervals and professional correspondence with parents regarding the progression of their child(ren).• I hold an up-to-date Level 2 qualification in teaching swimming and am additionally capable of teaching disabled children and those with additional needs, this involves regularly using my initiative and adaptive thinking to achieve a desired outcome.

• Key responsibilities included providing unaccompanied swimming lessons for groups of 6 children, overseen by only myself; administration of student’s progress with use of Swimsoft and the organisation of varied catch up lessons.• At this centre, I taught catch-up sessions for children who may have missed lessons throughout the term. These sessions were challenging as I had a mix of unfamiliar children each week, who are all of different abilities within one lesson.• Catch-up lessons have helped me develop my versatility and strengthen my improvisation skills to conduct a productive, flexible lesson.• For MD Sports I was the designated disability swimming instructor. This meant I taught 1-2-1 lessons to children with additional needs. These lessons were both challenging at times yet rewarding. Teaching additional needs children definitely developed my skills to adapt any stroke to suit a swimmers’ needs and motivated me to take part in independent study to gain the knowledge to teach appropriately.

• Key responsibilities included managing a team of volunteers and coaches four times a week to ensure high quality training sessions were being provided.• I organised and chaired regular meetings with the club committee to discuss issues and to plan for future events as well as updating the committee on the progress of the sessions.• I improved impeccable communication skills during my time as I needed to share information with swimmers, parents, coaches and the committee.• The head coach role has also helped me develop time management skills and management skills to ensure all aspects of the club from finances to training sessions to events ran smoothly and coherently.

• I was responsible for lessons with up to 10 children in a class with two assistant teachers in the water. I needed to give clear, concise instructions to both the children and the assistants as I was responsible for the least experienced children and needed to account the associated higher risk.• Throughout this role I developed, a methodical, logical and solution driven mindset is essential to conduct a productive and concise lesson due to the short amount of time allocated for each lesson.
