Managing media relations for a diverse financial organisation which includes a mortgage company, asset finance and a challenger bank. Devising media strategies to manage and raise the profile of the company as well as developing policy positions and documents.

Freelancing with a variety of clients including the NEC Group, The Lancet Psychiatry, Cuban Eight PR and clients in energy, tech, renewables and local government. Included six months contracting with the media team at NFU Mutual and leading their high profile rural crime campaign which involved live radio appearances, extensive data research and working with digital, design and social media teams.

In this role I quickly immersed myself within the energy sector and got to grips with the complicated range of issues that define it. I liaise regularaly with national, broadcast, trade and sector press as well as draft media releases and communication materials. I have also been working on major campaigns and social media.

Working with partners, business development teams and digital and design teams to manage and enhance the reputation of this leading law firm. Working to develop a proactive media relations function and increase thought leadership whilst maintaining day to day press relations and awards cycles.

I worked in the West Midlands communications team at the Environment Agency, the UK's foremost environmental regulator. The role comprised a mix of all communications disciplines including internal comms and marketing, meetings and events management, political planning and engagement, incident communications, social media and more. Along with this the role required knowledge of UK and European politics, environmental issues and regulation and a good deal of tact and diplomacy as the issues we dealt with were often contentious.

Managing PR and Communications at an educational charity. This includes working to develop a social media function, managing incoming and outgoing press enquiries, revamping communication processes and providing overall editorial service to the whole organisation.

Played a central role at one of the best kept secrets of British culture - The Radar Magazine. The Radar quickly went from drawing board to being the Midlands premier arts and culture magazine in the space of just over a year. Beautiful design, great writing and a number of fingers on the pulse made it a leading light of Birmingham culture. My role was feature and reviews writer as well as inputting into the design editorial processes.

Managing research and logistics for London bureau of a major Japanese newspaper. As correspondent also responsible for resporting events across Europe, maintaining networks of sources, interviewing high profile figures and managing news agenda and contact lists.

Press and campaigns in office of British MEP. Managed press relations throughout election campaign and expenses scandal giving me exposure to crisis management, proactive and reactive press relations. Also speech writing, managing and writing weekly radio show, placing articles, social media, event planning and media strategy.

During this period I was press and communications intern in the office of high profile MP. The role involved quickly acclimatising myself to the pressures of a busy and demanding political office. I supported the media team and the MP in all duties including press releases, parliamentary correspondence and speeches, media briefings and planning and a research project looking at educational achievement and ethnicity.

As a researcher at the UK branch of this Middle Eastern think tank I was responsible for conducting primary source archival research and producing written analysis of my findings. I was also responsible, in conjunction with colleagues, for feeding into the research agenda and developing proposals for future projects.

Devised and delivered English language tuition to classes of all ages and with up to 100 children per class. The role was a challenging one, requiring rapid aclimatisation to Chinese language and culture and the forging of relationships with colleagues across the school system.

In between completing my A Levels and beginning university, I worked for just over a year at my local newspaper, The Flintshire Leader. As a junior reporter I shadowed senior staff on the beat and wrote stories, on and off diary, for the paper and its supplements.
