In October 2018 I was offered a promotion to the role of Team Leader with Cambridge English Assessment through FERE CECA. This was an ambition realized for me and I gratefully accepted. After various training and certification I started working in this position in March 2019 and it has been both stimulating as well as highly developmental in my own career path. My roles include training new Speaking examiners, certifying both new and existing examiners to ensure consistency in the Cambridge English Assessment exams, as well as conducting monitoring of examiners to maintain standardization throughout the varied exam levels. Additionally, follow-up work online is also necessary as well as various administration responsibilities and database management.

I have been very fortunate to get the opportunity to train as a Cambridge Speaking Examiner in 2014 and have been working at this ever since. I am qualified to examine at all levels up to and including CPE (Proficiency). This has also proved to be very practical in preparing students for the respective exams. In March of 2017, I was trained as an exam supervisor. This added another dimension to my experience with Cambridge English Assessment and it has been a fulfilling role.

While I am employed by FERE CECA as a Team Leader, Cambridge Assessment accredit and certify my work and I am responsible for upholding the standards and regulations of this organisation. This means I attend yearly certification sessions which inform of new developments and regulations within the industry, that I in turn inform and train Speaking examiners about at training and certification sessions I hold for this purpose.

I was honored to be offered a position in one of the best schools in Madrid, and indeed in Spain. Ranked in the top three primary schools in the whole country, my job here is varied and dynamic as part of a large and highly experienced English Department. The methodology here embraces new technology by utilizing the latest educational resources such as IPads using the highest rated educational applications, as well as an exciting robotics program. To complement this, we also focus time on development of fundamental skills such as reading and writing, ensuring a healthy and varied education for our students. Our students spend 12 hours per week with native English teachers, which means speaking and listening abilities are well above the national average.

As well as working as a native teacher in the private school system here in Madrid, I also provide private classes to suit all levels of English. I primarily cater for the various Cambridge exams which are highly sought after here in Spain.

This is accomplished by working English into the curriculum as well as the overall educational environment

This is a medium sized printing company specialising in a large variety of business forms,particularly security documents such as euro cheques, car insurance certificates, as well as concert/football tickets. I started off here in 1999 as a machine operator and in 2004 was promoted to manager of the finishing department. In this position, as well as maintaining high quality documents, security was a large consideration in this enviroment. The documents we produced for insurance companies and the banking sector in Ireland were sensitive and confidentiality was essential. The cheques we produced were ready for issue, so again security was of utmost importance. I am proud to report that in the time I was employed there we achieved a 100% record of having zero incidents regarding fraud or theft in relation to the millions of documents that we have processed. Personally, I loved working in the printing industry, and while I felt it was a good time to try something different in life, I was very grateful for the wonderful employment that was provided to me for over 14 years.
