Following the success from my previous role, my new role involves providing assistance to the rest of the teams as they require, maintain some of the bigger systems, and build integrations with third party systems. The biggest of these has been to integrate with a hotel booking system called OWS for Propellers two biggest clients, and create a unified authentication system across that and other third party systems.

Whilst in this role, I have worked on several different types of complex systems including multi-site web-systems, online ordering systems for customisable products, custom CMS for insurance websites, and custom electronic point of sale systems.Sometimes, alternative technologies offer a better solution. One of these cases required data to be provided in both a machine readable format, and also well presented so it could be incorporated into other systems in multiple ways without any hassle for the users of the system. XML and an XSLT provided a perfect solution.More recently, I have built a solution to integrate weighbridges into a web based system using python on a Raspberry Pi to send data to the web system.Sites are typically based on custom frameworks, cherry picking some of the best parts of other frameworks.I am keeping up with current trends in PHP development, including the PHP-FIG standards.
