In my current position, i help to run and maintain a machine known as the dehacker. This position requires me to be quick on my feet and to be vigilant to any problems that occur in my view. This role also requires me to work as part of a team with 4 other operators. On a daily basis we are aiming to achieve an output target sufficient enough to maintain our kiln processes. i have undertaken many different roles at this factory, ranging from hand-making special order bricks, manual packing, QA Assistant as well as operating a forklift. Whilst undertaking these roles i am compliment with HSE procedures, regulations and workplace risk assessments.

Responsibilities Included: Completing Daily tasks such as maintaining machines such as lathes and manual mills.Servicing moulding tools regularly to maintain a quality finish for the customers product, this involves making components to repair a tool.AccomplishmentsI have helped senior members of the toolroom to complete day to day tasks and have gained basic MIG welding skills in the processThroughout my time here I have individually serviced over 50 individual heavy metal tools, this includes cleaning them thoroughly and replacing or repairing any parts when necessary. This has contributed to the successful use of these tools in moulding machines.Skills Used:Whilst working here, I have gained skills and experience on lathes and manual mills. I can perform turning tasks such as ; screw cutting, chamfering and counter-boring. I have used mills to create parts of a Mabon vice that I have been working on, this involves using end mills and different sized drills whilst taking into account the different speeds that I need to use.High Concentration levels are needed as well as good listening skills when receiving advice from senior members of the toolroom.
