As a second-year representative, I voice the concerns and interests of second-year MBIM students to MISA executives. I also coordinate, market and execute social events through classroom announcements and social media engagement to ensure second-years have resources to succeed academically and professionally.

Guiding and supporting new students to help transition to first-year sciences at UBC, answering questions and sharing insights about academic and social life at UBC.

Created and delivered an interactive tour to educate tourists and locals on regional agriculture, beekeeping, honey production, and the importance of honey bees and pollinators to local ecosystems, food production and food security. As one of the senior beekeepers, I managed and maintained bee colonies to ensure healthy hives by conducting regular inspections and implementing best practices for hive health and pest control. I provided excellent customer service by assisting customers with their purchases and sharing product knowledge. By understanding costumers diverse bee product needs, I also help direct them to hive goods that align with what they are looking for and provide comprehensible product information. I managed inventory, handled transactions, and ensured a welcoming store environment.Through my comprehensive involvement in the honey farm, I have developed a deep passion for sustainable agriculture and a strong commitment to educating the public about the vital role of honeybees.

Mission Roots Cafe is a student-run, sustainable cafe that donates all of its profits to UN sustainability-aligned charities. I oversaw finances, volunteer scheduling, marketing campaigns, barista training, and sourcing value-aligned wholesale suppliers. Over my 6 years involved, I was able to raise over $20,000 that has provided clean drinking water for remote Indigenous communities; funded research to help those with central nervous system injuries; supported youth mental health services; and invested in fishery protection for salmon to name a few.Mission Roots has taught me integral business skills and has served as a way to bring goal-oriented people together with the common motive of sustainable consumption and climate action.

Youth Relay is a Canada-wide event led by the Canadian Cancer Society that gives schools the resources to host a cancer fundraiser. I was the Event Chair, responsible for co-planning logistics, fundraising, and survivor testaments on top of promoting our event through local media sites and holding community relationships. Through my team’s dedication and commitment, we raised over $83,000 for cancer research and patient financial relief.
