A little about me and my career so far. I graduated Queen Mary University with a degree in History, and directly after university pursued a career in hospitality whilst taking time to consider my long term career path. I quickly found myself in a management role, and enjoying the experience of leading a team. I was then recruited to help set up a new restaurant, and again quickly worked my way in to management roles, before becoming Assistant General Manager. After 4 years in hospitality I pursued a change in career, to find a role with new challenges and a better work life balance. I am currently working as a Field Technician for Virgin Media, and have found that I enjoy thinking on my feet and using practical and technical skills.I thoroughly enjoy problem solving and finding solutions -I find having to leave a problem without a solution very frustrating. I am very practical minded, and always keen to try my hand at something new or research in to something I previously didn’t have knowledge of if it helps me to deliver a high-quality solution. I like to think that I am always learning, and that thinking both creatively and critically goes a long way. I have 4 years of experience in management positions, and have training and mentoring responsibilities within my current role. I very much enjoy working with people and getting to know individuals, and working to get the best out of a team. I believe that people need to feel valued and secure at work to get the best results from them and I’m a big believer of leading by example. Each role in my career so far has been customer facing, resulting in excellent customer service skills. I am a calm, patient person who endeavours to be as respectful as possible when dealing with other people, and understand the value of putting the customer first. I am confident with navigating difficult conversations, and stay calm when faced with adversity.
