CurrentMy current venture is within the hospitality industry, establishing a successful 4th wave coffee bar specialising in serving locally sourced produce. This project has taken over three years of dedication to become the successful business it is today, starting with the complete restoration of the 17th Century listed building to its former glory. As well as the refurbishment of the commercial floors of the building, the upstairs has been restored into a bespoke holiday rental. Every element of the property internally and externally has undergone significant restoration work, from woodwork, electrics, plumbing and decorating to bring it up to its current high standard, all completed by myself and family members.My day to day role within the coffee bar varies between preparing a selection of our speciality coffees and food items and in the evenings serving a range of local Kentish spirits, beers and wines. This is in addition to serving customers, stock checks and training new employees. Further responsibilities include; forming the staff rota, managing the accounts and orders, preparing for special events and sourcing new produce to feature in our coffee bar and creating and maintaining our social media accounts and website; www.refineryfaversham.co.uk.Starting a business from scratch has given me a unique insight and appreciation for the hard work and long hours needed to obtain high standards of service, and how rewarding it is to see this pay off.
