My research is focused on using polymer science and nanotechnology to create novel biocompatible nanoparticle-based sensors and drug delivery vehicles, and to use these materials for cancer diagnosis and treatment of obesity-induced insulin resistance. In my research, I study the chemistry and physics of the interface between multidentate polymeric ligands and quantum dots (QDs) core, synthesize polysaccharide nanocarriers for bioimaging and drug delivery, design new chemistry for developing novel stimuli-responsive polymers, and evaluate the nanotoxicity of QDs on cells and tissues.
