I work on ultrafast laser/terahertz spectroscopy of various materials (graphene, carbon nanotubes, topological insulators, superconductors). I have rich experience on building, maintaining, and troubleshooting laser/terahertz spectrometers. I am very familiar with ultrafast optics, semiconductor physics, Ti:Sa laser systems, various laser crystals and devices. Specifically, I havebuilt (optical-, NIR-, MIR-, THz-) pump and (NIR-, THz-) probe spectroscopy experiments to study metamaterials and nanomaterials and conducted data analyses.developed a split-ring-resonator metamaterial based compact high-efficiency THz emitter to generate broadband THz waves which could cover the entire THz band.discovered that monolayer graphene is an excellent laser gain medium for emitting laser light.demonstrated quantitatively lowest dark exciton dynamics and density dependent renormalization of semiconducting single-walled carbon nanotubes.characterized static and optically-induced transient carrier dynamics of nanomaterials (graphene, carbon nanotubes, and topological insulators)achieved intense terahertz generation with MV/cm electric-field from LiNbO3 crystal using tilted-pulse-front scheme.
