Glenn Center for Biology of Aging ResearchEXPERIENCE & ACCOMPLISHMENTS: (1) Invented, designed and synthesized novel chemical probes and small-molecule compounds by fragment-based drug discovery (FBDD) and modern synthetic organic chemistry.(2) HTS screened novel small-molecule inhibitors of ferroptosis in 96- and 384-well microplate, cell-based assays to drive structure-based drug design (SBDD) for Alzheimer’s disease.(3) Conducted discovery/targeted quantitative proteomics, identified and characterized therapeutic effects of small-molecule modulators specifically targeting mitochondria.(4) Performed comprehensive data analysis and interpretation on proteomics, biochemical and phenotypic screening results.(5) Actively engaged and collaborated with the Scripps Research Institute, UC-San Diego, San Diego State University on R&D projects to develop small/large-molecule neurotherapeutics in HTS drug discovery programs.(6) Communicated and presented experimental findings to team members and at leading scientific conferences.(7) Managed and trained research assistants and technicians to conduct routine lab tasks.

EXPERIENCE & ACCOMPLISHMENTS:(1) Conducted medicinal chemistry and chemical biology research on drug lead optimization and DMPK evaluations of GSK3β and sEH inhibitors for Alzheimer’s disease(2) Developed biological mass spectrometry and proteomics methods for the analysis and characterization of intact mass and post-translational modifications of engineered proteins/antibodies and conducted bioassays for protein functional evaluation(3) Provided consulting, technical guidance and scientific support for the Proteomics Core Facility at the University of Hawaii
