I completed my Master’s in Social Work in April of 2022. Upon receiving my LSW, I began working in private practice therapy. There, I received specialized training in CBT, DBT, and ERP. Additionally, I have received education in ACT, RO-DBT, and Motivational Interviewing. Through training and work experiences, I have developed competency in treating OCD, anxiety disorders, mood disorders, and eating disorders. I have also gained experience with behavior planning and contingency management. I work with clients ages 10 and up, specializing in adolescents through adults. Most recently, I obtained my LISW in August 2024.Prior to my current position, I had several valuable work and internship experiences in this field. Before beginning my MSW program, I worked in behavioral health at a residential school for children with behavioral concerns who were in the state's custody. I learned a lot about building rapport, trauma-informed care, safe crisis management, and behavior modification. Working in a high level of care allowed me the unique experience of being involved in an environment with therapeutic programming incorporated into every aspect of the center and its protocols. While in grad school, I had two internships. First, I worked as a social worker in a refugee resettlement program. I gained valuable experience working with clients with diverse cultures, backgrounds, and languages. This allowed me to broaden my communication skills to navigate through barriers faced. My second internship consisted of working as a social worker in a children’s hospital’s transgender clinic. This opportunity allowed me to further expand my experience with biopsychosocial assessment, crisis assessments, and referral to appropriate resources and agencies. I gained valuable experience working with parents and families, children and teens, and collaborating with medical providers.Before diving into mental and behavioral health, I completed my Bachelor of Arts in Deaf Studies in December 2019. My undergraduate education and related work experiences taught me much about sensitivity to cultural differences and marginalized groups. This has greatly informed the approach I take in my work now. As a social worker and human being, I align myself with social justice movements aimed at equity and inclusion. As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, I take pride in providing affirming and inclusive care to people of all identities. I respect the lived experiences of each person I encounter and aim to empower others to determine and reach their wellness goals.
