Formerly a dedicated practitioner of education for eleven years I am now in a period of career transition within Local Authority or Civil Service settings. I was appointed as an Executive Assistant to the Service Director of Children’s Social Care in January 2023 and am really thriving in this post whilst growing my skill set in this new profession. My previous role in Business Support has further embedded skills such as computer literacy, organisation and prioritisation, building positive relationships with a range of stakeholders, a developed understanding of Children's Services, a strong communication style, meeting preparation including producing legal documents regarding safeguarding, keeping to strict timescales, detailed minute taking for up to 3 hours, and outstanding customer care.My experience as a classroom teacher, subject leader and head of faculty brings many transferable skills that have complemented my latest role including but not limited to; active learning and development, authentic listening, complex problem-solving, critical thinking, organisation and prioritisation, managing stakeholder’s emotions, monitoring and effective record keeping, presentation/information delivery and sound communication. My drive, dedication and ambition is also supported by my educational background including a first class Psychology degree, a PGCE in Social Sciences, a Level 3 Executive Assistant Certificate and a Level 5 CIPD accredited Human Resources Management Diploma.My areas of interest include Education & Children's Services, diversity, equality and inclusion, psychology, health & wellbeing, travel and project management.
