I led planning, monitoring and evaluation functions for the Protection Division of UNRWA at its Headquarters in Amman. My activities included:- Conducting a comprehensive review of the data collection and measurement processes of the ~15 Strategic Plan Indicators for the Protection Division to ensure they are clearly and logically communicated in the Indicator Methodology Handbook, and consistently reported on across all five field offices;- Providing M&E support to grant applications - for example for a $1.5 million USD project harnessing technological innovation and AI to provide improved GBV support to frontline workers;- Producing five research papers on attitudes and perceptions towards GBV across five field offices;- Supporting field office colleagues in setting targets for key indicators for the coming year.

RedR UK is an international organisation that ensures humanitarians and development workers have the skills they need to support communities affected by disasters and conflicts around the world. We provide tailored training to support local needs, as well as responding to disasters as and when they occur. As a board member, I support RedR with funding and governance issues, partnerships development in Jordan and the MENA region, and strategy development for our international operations.

I provided freelance consulting services, such as proposal development, data analysis, report-writing and copyediting functions, for a wide range of local, national and international organizations. Examples of my contracts include:- Leading the literature review, data analysis of focus group discussions and overall production of a Best Practice Report for a sexual health alliance in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia;- Copy-writing project documentation including a 300-page project report, three technical publications on waste management and several M&E frameworks for an Industrial Parks project funded by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ);- An internal review and evaluation of RedR UK’s progress towards achieving its five-year strategic plan objectives;- A summative evaluation of a technical and vocational institute in Ethiopia for the Austrian Development Agency; - A feasibility study for the extension of Teach For All’s program to reach displaced people and conflict-prone areas across the Horn of Africa;- Quantitative and qualitative analysis of would-be and returned migrants’ experiences across Southern Africa for IOM.

Addis Ababa, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia

I set up and ran a private swimming school that trained over 150 children (including complete beginners) aged 4 to 17 on swimming instruction in Addis Ababa. I also trained adults privately and in small groups.

Tigray, Ethiopia

I led the technical, operational and logistical on-the-ground components of a large-scale evaluation of the CRS flagship JEOP program, which reaches approximately 4 million people across the active conflict Tigray region of Ethiopia. I successfully recruited, trained and managed 75 consultants to survey 3,600 households and conduct 135 key informant interviews – despite the lack of telecommunications, Internet, banking systems or legally-accessible fuel in the region. I conducted data analysis of all KIIs/FGDs using open coding techniques in a bespoke database and used this qualitative data to write responses to over 20 research questions.

Addis Ababa, Ethopia

JaRco conducts large-scale population surveys and impact evaluation of development projects in the areas of public health, gender, education, migration, democracy and agriculture.I oversaw the quality assurance aspects of data collection, management, analysis and reporting procedures across the organization - including technical aspects, ethical procedures, data handling and proof/copy editing of all written documentation.I worked with:UN Agencies: UNFPA, UNICEF, WFP, IOM.NGOs: People In Need, Population Council, Education Development Trust, Catholic Relief ServicesResearch institutes: London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, National Democratic Institute, John Snow InstituteGovernments and Ministries of Ethiopia, Kenya and Lesotho

WSUP helps to transform cities to benefit the millions who lack access to water and sanitation, with country offices in Ghana, Kenya, Madagascar, Mozambique, Zambia and Bangladesh.In a team of seven, my role was to help secure £18 million per year for water & sanitation services by cultivating new funding relationships, managing corporate partnerships and leveraging funding from accounts including FCDO, RVO, Skoll Foundation and UNICEF.

FoodCycle addresses food poverty, food waste and social isolation through sustainable community meals.My role was to devise and pitch new partnerships, manage external communications and individually raise over £500,000 per year from businesses, trusts, foundations and the general public. I also delivered volunteer training and implemented grant management systems to enhance partner relationships.

Huye, Rwanda

This student-run NGO in southern Rwanda supports community development around Huye. I facilitated strategic development to improve resilience and capacity, diversify income streams, and improve monitoring and evaluation processes.
