Over the summer before my freshman year of college, I worked as a waitress at Hickory Tavern. I worked over 50 hours per week in a tourist heavy destination, so the restaurant was a lively and busy place. In order to succeed as a waitress, I had to be prompt in helping my tables, learn to work well under pressure and navigate a busy workplace environment, as well as master customer service skills.

I was a junior counselor at the sleepaway camp, Camp Illahee during the four week session. My co-counselor and I were in charge of 8, rising 7th graders. This job taught me a lot about responsibility, problem-solving, leadership, and communication. This job solidified my love for children and working with others in a fast-paced environment.

During the pandemic, I worked at Wild Wing Cafe as a hostess, as well as an expo, working over 50 hours every week. During my time as a hostess, I learned the power of first impressions, as I was the person to greet customers, I learned to navigate conflict as we were extremely short-staffed during the pandemic, and how to work with a team. As an expo, I had to be organized to ensure a table's food was ready to be brought out, how to communicate with the kitchen, as well as remaining composed during a dinner time rush.
