Libby McDannell is the Chief Executive Officer of the Arizona Medical Association, the largest physician organization in our state that is dedicated to protecting public health and advocating for physicians and patients. As CEO, she is responsible for strategic leadership, partnership cultivation, and new program development. Within ArMA, Libby has responsibility for the overall supervision, direction, and control of the business operations and staff. She oversees a staff of 15 and works with a 40+ member board of directors.Under her leadership, ArMA’s financial reserves have increased significantly. Libby has created additional non-dues revenue with a new Affiliate Partner program, while establishing a Student Section within ArMA to generate support for the next generation of physicians in the state of Arizona. She has expanded communications to the association’s more than 4,000 allopathic and osteopathic physician members, streamlined ArMA’s financial management, and implemented good governance procedures. With nearly 20 years of experience in healthcare, Libby has developed an expertise in organizational excellence, financial management, and the achievement of strategic priorities. Her career has been marked by years of leadership, service and achievement. • In 2012, she became a Certified Association Executive (CAE)• In 2015, she earned the designation of IOM from the Institute of Organizational Management• In 2017, she completed the exclusive, invite-only Georgetown McDonough School of Business New Strategies ProgramLibby graduated Summa Cum Laude with honors from Shippensburg University. She currently sits on the Health Current Board of Directors and serves as a member of the Bioscience Roadmap Steering Committee. Prior to her career as an executive, she was an educator.
